Have you ever wondered why Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood did not have a multiplayer? The answer is the same that came during a recent interview from lead designer Tommy Tordsson Björk for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
According to Björk, Machine Games opts for single-player only so that you can focus exclusively on the history and consequently did not distract with unwanted players.
“The onlyhow we can create these experiences super engaging narrative is focusing solely on single-player, “explained the exponent of the Swedish study, at a time when many are questioning the survival of the genre.
“Having a multiplayer component in this would dilute the worker process only. This is the danger when trying to do two things at once. “
As evidence of this thought, there is the idea that Wolfenstein series is not to be identified asshooter but as action adventure firsthand.
“Because we feel that there is so much more in our games besides the shooting …”.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be available from Friday 27 October.
