Just about ten years after its debut, the original Life is Strange is still in the imagination of lovers of narrative adventures, as it was able to drag us into a teen drama which, thanks to its scholastic context , managed to effectively mix multifaceted characters, themes that we can all feel close to and that pinch of supernatural fantasy that doesn’t hurt.\r\nThat’s why, since then, two things have happened: the Life is Strange series continues to have its audience and the original development team, Dontnod, has become a household name within the industry. After some experiments and the work of publishing several titles (one of which is the recent Jusant), it’s time for Dontnod Entertainment and the minds behind LiS to go back to creating a game – and with a lot of new features.\r\nWe are talking about Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, presented with a teaser trailer during The Game Awards, which like Life is Strange has the ambition of creating a real universe, within which further events could therefore be set in the future stories.\r\n\r\nThis, as we said, is accompanied by an important change, since the development team of Life is Strange today has moved to Canada and is called Dontnod Montreal.\r\nThe game is described as «the first title in the Lost Records universe and a new story-driven journey through time created by the creative minds behind Life is Strange».\r\nAs the trailer suggested, at the center of the events will be a group of young friends who spent a lot of time together in high school, in 1995.\r\nHowever, twenty-seven years after a summer spent together, «fate brings them together again, to confront their long-buried secret, which they had promised to never speak again”.\r\n\r\nIt will therefore be interesting to understand what happened in the summer of 1995 and why the protagonists decided never to refer to it again – before life chose differently.\r \n”It’s been a pretty good adventure for us from Life is Strange onwards” said executive producer Luc Baghadoust, together with creative director Michel Koch, on the occasion of the announcement. «Moving to Canada, setting up our own Montreal studio, building an amazing team during the global challenges we’ve all faced…! Today we are proud to reveal Lost Records.”\r\n”This new universe is filled with the magical realism we love, and we can’t wait to reveal more about Swann, Nora, Autumn, Kat and their journey.”\r\nWe look forward to revealing Lost Records. to find out more, but the Life is Strange style vibes seem really strong already from this trailer – and who knows whether Bloom & Rage can really pick up its legacy.\r\nIts release is expected in 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
